The canvas tension is very stiff due to the lining. There appear to be old tears in the background which have been stabilised although deformations still exist in the canvas. The paint layers are in a stable condition. There is some brushy retouching in the background and few touches around the vegetables. The varnish is glossy and even. A few scattered losses to the gilding on the frame and some stains.
