A rare Caughley 'Bell Toy' inkwell and liner circa 1775-85. of waisted cylindrical form, the rim pierced with four circular quill holes, fitted with a detachable well, transfer-printed in underglaze blue, the reverse with a subsidiary print of three vases and a pagoda, the rim and top section with scattered flower sprigs, printed C mark, 9.7cm diameter (top section cracked, inner rim chip, the inkwell chipped)
