On April 4, 1968, five years after his now-famous "I Have a Dream" speech in front of America's Lincoln monument, civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. On June 5, 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy was killed by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan. On October 15, 1969, Abdi Rashid Ali Shermarke, president of Somalia, was murdered.
