TJAMPATJINPA RONNIE (PINTUPI). NE EN 1943
LE REVE DU FEU DU BUSH-TINGARI / BUSH FIRE DREAMING - TINGARI, 2013. Ronnie was born in Tjiturrunya, west of Kintore in Western Australia. Ronnie was initiated in Winparku, near Lake Mackay in the Northern Territories. His family first migrated to Haasts Bluff where he tended cattle and then to Papunya. He began painting in 1971 with the founding members of the Central Desert Painters' Acrylic Painting Movement. He left with his family in the early 80's for Walungurru. He painted mainly for the community of Papunya Tula, mainly painting on the Tingari theme using mainly fundamental colors. His style evolved at the end of the 80's to be very synectic and use brighter colors. He is the last great painter of the first generation to paint. He is famous for these Tingari, the dream of water (water dreaming), the dream of bushfire (Bushfire dreaming). Concerning this representation of the dream of the bush fire he can approach it in different ways with either the fire decomposed in different lines of colors, or by mixing it with the Tingari dreaming like this painting.
