Attributed to Pietro da Cortona, Italian 1596-1669- The Presentation at the Temple; pen and brown ink and pencil on laid paper, bears the collector’s seal of Giorgio Franco, Florence, 23x29cm Held in a hand gilded frame, glazed and mounted. The work has not been examined out of the frame so may or may not be stuck down. The sheet is subject to creasing throughout, with two heavier horizontal creases running across the lower section and top third section. A few diagonal creases to the top left hand corner and some handling creases here and there. The sheet is ever so slightly ruckled, with a large crease/ruckle to the upper left edge. A few spots of foxing here and there, blemishes to the upper left corner, above the left standing figure and liquid stains to the kneeling foreground figure to the right and below her. Pencil marks along the top edge. An adhesive mark/blemish to the lower left corner. Otherwise in good overall condition.
