The jade carved ornament in the shape of axe head, with jagged sides, widened blade, and stringing hole at top, the jade is of celadon color with translucency, veins, and slight russet.|Longshan Culture period.||Length: 5 in (12.7 cm) Width: 3 1/2 in (8.9 cm)|龍山文化 玉雕斧|整器通體磨光，器體兩面色澤不一，一面偏黃褐色，少量部位發白。器頂部略微外弧，器身呈風字形，兩側由上至下明顯向內凹弧，呈束腰狀，左右對稱，雙面寬弧刃，刃口磨製規整，刃角上翹。器柄部中間有一圓形孔，用以固定器柄。該斧厚薄不一，上端較厚，由上至下漸薄。斧鉞在古代作為權力的象徵，為社會上層人士所擁有。
