The jade carved ram figure depicts a ram lying recumbent with head raised, two horns curled back, the jade is of yellowish-celadon color tone with russet.|Han Dynasty period.||Height: 2 1/4 in (5.7 cm) Length: 3 3/4 in (9.5 cm)|漢 玉雕臥羊|玉羊質地溫潤細膩，圓雕作跪臥狀，身體有大面積棕褐色沁。其頭部微仰，陰刻梭形眼圓睜直視，尖嘴緊閉，角呈扁形長鉤狀，雙耳附於角外。身體敦實圓渾，胸部前挺，臀部隆起，短尾寬扁，尾尖微翹。四足臥於體下，腿部肌肉發達，骨骼勁挺硬朗。古代“羊”、“祥”通假。董仲舒有雲：“羊，祥也，故吉禮用之。”羊是我國傳統文化中極為重要的象徵之一，深得世人所愛。
