Dimensions: 5" H x 6-1/4" Dia. Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, ChengHua blue and white Dragon porcelain high bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, broad cavetto, with a slight flaring opening lip, raised on a high round foot base, with concave footing. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt under glazed blue, depicted with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a dark blue color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and vapors, bordered with dense of floral diaper surrounding Bajixiang symbols inside ruyi shaped cartouches. The high foot base with scrolling cumulus clouds, enclosed with repeating key fret and double fine blue rings lines. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, ChengHua Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
