Edo period (1615-1868), 18th/19th century Constructed of 62 plates riveted together with the rivets left standing along the back edge of each plate, getting gradually smaller in size as they approach the crown, the helmet profile with a gentle slope at the front and a slight depression at the crown, mounted with a four-stage gilt and shakudo tehen kanamono, the mabizashi and fukigaeshi applied with stencilled leather and decorative lacing, the three-lame shikoro laced in dark blue and applied with gilt hardware on the front edge, pierced with inome and with chrysanthem bosses
