Description

A Worcester Porcelain Chestnut Basket, Cover and Stand, circa 1770, of lobed oval form with crabstock handles, moulded and pierced with stylised flowerheads, the stand painted with dishevelled birds, 26.5cm wide See illustration Although known as chestnut baskets, the examples with solid sides were listed as ''cream basons'' in contemporary records.
