罐四方形，罐颈饰回纹，肩部为蕉叶纹，腹部四面分别绘云凤纹，足边为变形莲瓣纹。底青花双方栏内书“大明嘉靖年制”双行六字楷书款。方形器物的制作工艺较圆形器物难度大，器物容易变形，素来有“一方顶十圆”之说，而此四方盖罐为明嘉靖时期的代表作品，造型饱满，完整挺拔，是为嘉靖方形器物的典型代表。
