A large mahogany roll-top estate desk, early 19th century, the front opening to reveal a green leather inset writing surface and a bank of pigeonholes and drawers, over the pedestals fitted with eight further drawers arranged around a central kneehole with cupboard, and with further cupboards to the reverse, the top with inset brass plaque inscribed 'Charles Sanders', 139cm wide 94cm deep 126cm high Condition report: Eight old splits to the top and sides. Knocks and polished-in dents. Leather to the interiors distressed. Pigeon holes rebuilt. Brass handles later replacements. Surrounds interfere with escutcheons. Fall with damage and splits. Top possibly a replacement.
