After Jean-Baptiste Greuze Girl with a doll oil on canvas 61 x 51cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas has good tension and the paint layers are stable and secure overall. Drying cracks have formed in the background as the paint layers have dried. There is extensive retouching across the painting, mainly in the girl’s face and hands and in the background. Although slightly darkened in the background, the overpaint is fairly well matched to the original paint layer. The varnish is very glossy with several scuffs across the surface and a smeary patch above the sitter’s head. The frame is in a good condition.
