The taller having a single mid-fillet to the truncated cone body, an engraved monogram within a wrigglework roundel, and a crowned 'X' over the hallmarks of William Hogg, Newcastle Upon Tyne (fl.1780-1815), (PS81) near the lipped collar, the double-curve handle with tongued thumbrest and fishtail terminal, an incised flared footrim, and crowned 'GR' mark inside base, capacity 29.7 fl.oz., height 15.3cm (6in), the other by the same maker and of very similar form, capacity 25.7 fl.oz., 'X' mark inside base, height 14cm (5½in), (2)
