Massive Chinese Green Glazed Base, Eastern Han Dynasty c. 50 - 100 CE. This rare and large base with beast head legs in the traditional green glaze over red clay which is typical of the Eastern Han Dynasty in Sichuan Province. It has an overall silver iridescence which is often referred to as “silver frost”. Various glaze flows typical of the period but in overall fine condition for era, origin and form.
