Guangxu six-character marks and of the period. Dimension: 9" (23cm) L. PROVENANCE: Dr. Robert Baker Ewan (1862-1926) and his wife Sarah Jane Lewthwaite (1861-1941), missionaries in Chengdu, circa 1900-1914. (Dr Ewan played a key role in establishing the Medical School at West China Union University.) Thence by descent to the great-grandchildren.
