Mid/Late Ming Dynasty The rectangular table with a flat top and a recessed galleried section with a lobed apron below, supported on four short curling legs ending in curled feet with painted spheres and circular pad feet, inlaid all over with mother-of-pearl designs, the top with a garden scene depicting a group of sages admiring a scroll painting besides a pavilion surrounded by pine trees, bamboo and jagged rocks, all below a constricted and reticulated waist set above a sloping apron inlaid with six shaped cartouches depicting scholars admiring gardens. 94cm (37in) wide x 45cm (17 5/8in) deep x 24.5cm (9 1/2in) high.
