16th century The vessel of compressed globular body rising to a wide trumpet mouth, applied with two sinuous chilong clambering over the body and neck and reaching over the rim, finely enamelled around the interior and exterior with lotus blooms borne on delicate leafy stems, separated by a lappet band to the neck and shoulder, the rim and foot decorated with bands of ruyi clouds, the base with a single lotus medallion, all on turquoise ground. 13.5cm (5 2/8in) high.
