16th century The circular dish supported on three large ruyi feet, finely decorated with an asymmetric 'flower-and-bird' composition depicting a golden bird swinging down from a branch of fully ripe peaches, its beak open as it lunges towards a leaf, surrounded by intertwined flowering branches, all reserved on a bright turquoise ground bordered in the cavetto with a band of flaming pearls and clusters of ruyi clouds on the rim. 18cm (7 1/8in) diam.
