Late 17th/18th century Carved from a solid block, the impassive figure seated on a textile-draped throne above a foot stool, holding a ruyi-sceptre along his right arm, wearing an official hat and a plain robe looped at the sleeves and retained by a simple belt, the surface of even pale lustrous tone, the underside incised with the three-character name Gu Zhenguan. 30in (11 3/4in) high.
