17th century The shallow circular vessel rising from a spreading foot to a flat, everted rim decorated with a double dogtooth band, the well with a lotus scroll encircling the central medallion of a phoenix standing on a blue rock below a four-clawed dragon emerging from clouds, the exterior and foot with further lotus scrolls, repeated to the base around the double-vajra and yin yang symbol to the centre. 35cm (13 6/8in) diam.
