Attributed to Suzuki Yoshihiko (1884-1969), Taisho (1912-1926) or Showa (1926-1989) era, 20th century Decorated in kebori and carved in low relief with details of gilt, copper and silver flat inlay, with windswept nadeshiko (pinks) and grasses growing behind a jakago (stone-filled basket) on the river, the stones and poles in the foreground picked out in light katakiribori (engraving with an angled chisel emulating brushstrokes); signed with chiselled characters Yoshihiko kizamu (Chased by Yoshihiko). 22.8cm x 22cm (9in x 8 5/8in).
