By Kozan, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Decorated in enamels and gilt with an elderly man on one vase and his young daughter on the other, both seated in a field, gesticulating as sparrows emerge from the two baskets at their feet, dressed in human attire performing a dance, the neck and foot with a band of maple leaves caught in a spider web; both vases signed on the foot rim with an impressed seal Kozan.
