By Kinkozan, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Boldly decorated in enamels and gilt with an all-over design of branches of assorted seasonal flowers draping across the body including cherry, peony, and chrysanthemum, the shoulder covered with a elaborate simulated brocade cloth decorated with repeated geometric and foliate motifs, the cover similarly embellished and surmounted by a finial in form of a seated spotted shishi (Chinese mythological lion dog), the whole supported on tall shishi-tongue feet; signed on the base Kinkozan tsukuru. 25cm (9 7/8in) high.
