Edo period (1615-1868) to Showa era (1926-1989), mid-19th to late 20th century Two oban, one hosoban, three triptychs and one diptych: the first, an oban by Yoshitoshi of Atsuso (The Hot Type) from the series Fuzoku sanjuniso (32 Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women), framed and glazed, with a cloth-bound storage box, 35.5cm x 23cm (14in x 9in); the second, a triptych of kabuki actors attibuted to Toyokuni II, each sheet approx., 38cm x 26cm (15in x 10¼in); the third, a triptych of female servants in Edo Castle by Kunisada, each sheet approx., 37cm x 25.2cm (14 9/16in x 10in); the fourth a diptych depicting Nisemurasaki Inaka Genji by Toyokuni III, framed and glazed, 35.5cm x 49cm (14in x 19in); the sixth a triptych by Chikanobu depicting kabuki actors onstage, each sheet approx., 37cm x 25cm (14 9/16in x 9 7/8in); the seventh, an otanzakuban by Takahashi Shotei, depicting a moonlit night in a village, mounted on cardboard, 38cm x 17.2cm (15in x 10¾in); the last an oban by Yoshida Hiroshi of Hirosaki jo (Hirosaki Castle) from the series Sakura hachidai (Eight Views of Cherry Blossoms), 39.8 x 26.7cm (15 11/16in x 10 9/16in); all variously published and variously signed.
