Edo period (1615-1868) to Meiji era (1868-1912), mid-19th to early 20th century Six shunga print albums and books: the first, an album bound in orihon format, titled Okyo e-maki (Painting Volume by Okyo), containing 12 colour illustrations of love-making by different couples, with lacquer details, unsigned, 25.2cm x 36cm (10in x 14 1/8in); the second, a small-size album titled Ka, getsu, Genji (Flower, Moon and Genji) with 12 pages of colour illustrations, unsigned, 18cm x 12cm (7 1/8in x 4¾in); the remainder, all small-size illustrated books by Koikawa Shozan, consisting of; Irokurabe hanano shizuku (Charm Competition: Dew of Flowers); Teikin warai-e sho (Teikin Collection of Shunga); Kasumi no hikihajime (Beginning of Drawing Mist); and Chigusa no hana futaba chocho (Flowers of Various Plants: Butterfly with Two Wings), all variously signed; all approx., 18cm x 10.5cm (7 1/8in x 4 1/8in); together with one inscribed wood storage box.
