goli glen Wood, pigments, metal length 13in (33cm) Provenance French Private Collection Composed of a head of a buffalo fused with the horns of a gazelle, the open mouth with finely incised upper and lower teeth and a tongue curving upwards; a set of horns with incised ribbing forming a diamond at the top, almost joining; a ridge running from top of the head to the front of the snout with raised triangle patter; the broad facial planes with tapered conical eyes; a U-shaped metal insert at the nape of the neck; exquisite rich and semi-glossy dark brown patina, accented with dark red pigmentation on the circular eye plane and sides of the open mouth.
