A Chinese Canton export mother-of-pearl veneered jewellery box, Qing dynasty (1644-1911), the hinged lid centred with a pierced panel decorated with birds and butterflies among peonies, enclosing a mirror and a fitted compartment, with further all-over engraved and reticulated decoration, on peg feet, 18.5cm wide 15cm deep 7cm high 清 螺钿雕花鸟图盖盒 Condition report: Chips, losses and repair to mother of pearl veneer. Some pieces off but present. One area to central panel replaced with a gilt metal piece. Interior with wear and damage. Scratches, knocks and general wear commensurate with age.
