18th century Exquisitely carved as a bird grasping a sprig of lingzhi fungus in its beak, with head turned to the left facing a smaller phoenix to its side, the feathers and plumage rendered in relief and with incised lines, the carefully defined feet tucked-in under the body; the stone a very faint pale greenish-white tone with cloud-like inclusions and a few russet highlights, stand. 14cm (5 1/2in) wide.
