A rare set of six George III silver wine coasters, by William Plummer, London, 1788, having pierced sides, the centers engraved with the coat-of-arms of Leigh of Ridware, Co. Stafford. Each coaster is fully hallmarked on the rim of the base. Provenance: Sotheby's, London, April 27, 2010 sale, lot 270. [4 3/4" Diam.]. Some marks worn due to where they are, as is typical with this style of coasters; light surface wear and small dents commensurate with age; two galleried sides slightly misshapen; one base with a crack; arms good.
