Charles Tisch (New York, NY, active 1870-1889) Aesthetic Movement Cabinet circa 1884 rosewood, brass, mother-of-pearl, inlays of various woods the cabinet with Aesthetic Movement inlay decoration, Ionic columns and Eastlake-inspired spindles 85 x 59 x 18 inches In 1889, an identical cabinet was given to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York by Charles Tisch. It still resides there and was exhibited in "19th Century America," the landmark show from 1970.
