Large Imari dragon & phoenix bowl with faceted rim, Japan, 18th century (Edo period). In the mirror, 2 cobalt blue, gold-hued, coiling dragons around the fireball. The inner wall with radially aligned, slightly wavy cartouches with varying repeats, above yellow dragons and descending phoenixes. The outer wall corresponding, h. 16/d. 46 cm.
