A rare Valdivia "Venus" figure from Ecuador, ca. 3500 - 1500 BC. This lovely Phase V example is 2-1/4 inches high and depicts a female with arms crossed under her large breasts. She has a nicely incised coif falling down her back. The nicely burnished slip shows good mineral deposits. Mounted on stand. Cf. Valdez "Amerindian Signs", page 30. (VA157)
