此核雕工艺细致入微，刻画场景宏大，具有宫廷制器风格。刻工通过精妙施工，塑造了一座寺院，并刻有匾额“金山寺”。寺内可见宝塔等部分建筑，并镂雕有二十余位人物，姿态各异，形象生动。人物分为上下两组，上方为各路神仙尊像，下方是众多僧众。此核雕镂雕人物众多，为典型的多层次镂雕，且雕琢如此精细，在存世清代核雕作品中相当稀少。
