Ian Colin Stewart (1949-2019), the estate's late-owner moved with his family from the UK to Hong Kong and Singapore in the 1980s. A considerable amount of oriental art at Beal are testament to the time he spent in the East, before putting down roots in North Yorkshire at the end of the 1980s.
