An unusual pair of bronze horse-harness cheek fittings Western Zhou Dynasty Created in mirror image to be attached to the harness on both sides of a horse's head, possibly as military protection or for ceremonial display purposes, each formed from a thin metal sheet as an irregularly-curving pieced plaque, now with attractive green patination and minor shallow encrustation, fitted stands. 22cm (9in) wide (4).
