A RARE WOOD GROUP OF GUANYIN AND CHILD 17th/18th century Carved in the round, the Bodhisattva seated in a pose of royal ease with a young boy holding a bowl cradled on the folded leg, her high chignon draped in the cowl of a long voluminous robe falling in heavy pleats and exposing the toes of her bare feet, all on a naturalistic lotus-pond base issuing blossoms, buds and leaves. 27.8cm (11in) high.
