A FINE SMALL INLAID BLACK LACQUER CABINET Possibly Ryukyu Islands, 18th/19th century Of rectangular form raised on a shaped base, the exterior attractively inlaid with mother-of-pearl, soapstone, bone and wood, the front and sides with flowering trees including camellia and peach and two birds, the back with five ribboned Precious Objects, the interior two central drawers between two long drawers, each decorated with ribboned Precious Objects, the door interiors with finger citron and a bat, all reserved on a lustrous dark brown lacquer ground. 21.5cm (8 1/4in) wide x 18cm (7in) high.
