此件插屏为红木质地，正中镶嵌一块白玉牌饰。玉嵌件呈长方形，边角磨圆，采用极品和阗白玉制成，洁白凝润，宛若羊脂。因片体较厚，表面高浮雕两条首尾相接的螭龙，双螭好似追赶状。螭龙头部略呈方形，五官聚拢于前端，翘鼻阔口，双目炯炯有神，卷眉上翘，双耳内卷，鬃毛披散。身躯细长蜿蜒，四肢攀附有力，长尾分叉翻卷，具有鲜明的明早期风格特征。其用料奢华，工料俱佳，置于案头，实为精品。
