此件烟壶为水晶随形圆雕制成，质地晶莹剔透，造型圆润饱满。内膛掏空，壁体匀净，顶部打一小孔。水晶常见，但此件器物独特之处在于其利用绿色原生皮巧雕纹饰，三只青色螃蟹游曳于水中，旁边生出一束绿色的芦草，画面清新淡雅，设计十分巧妙，具有极强的艺术性。螃蟹在明清时期寓意科考中举，三只则寓意“一连三甲”，另外又有纵横四海和八方来财之寓意。
