A MOTHER OF PEARL AND GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE China, late Qing Dynasty - Republic period (1880 - 1920). Of high-shouldered tapering form rising from an oval spreading foot and with matching stopper. The glass body covered with an elegant mosaic of mother of pearl inlays. A pair of milky-glass emblems with depictions of peacocks and floral motifs set to the front and back side. The base with a mark. Condition: Good condition with expected surface wear, one small chip to overlay. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
