A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN 'BIRD AND FLOWERS' LOVED DISH, KANGXI China, Kangxi period (1662-1722). The shallow lobed sides rising from a short, tapered foot to a broad everted rim, painted in underglaze blue to the interior with a central roundel enclosing a bird surrounded by flowers, encircled by a key-fret band followed by ruyi-lappets enclosing various flowers on leafy stems against variously diapered grounds, the exterior with flowers on leafy twigs, the recessed base with an artemisia leaf mark within a double circle. Condition: Overall good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities, some fritting to the rim and foot with one associated hairline. Provenance: From an old family collection in Pressburg, Austrian Empire, Slovakia, and thence by descent to the present owner. Weight: 278 g Dimensions: Diameter 21 cm
