Maharaja Jawan Singh and Sardar Singh hunting wild boar with attendants, Mewar, Rajasthan, North India, early 19th century, opaque pigments on paper heightened with gilt, the hunting party depicted on the rooftop of a hunting fort, within red borders with repeated stylised leaf motifs, the reverse with two lines of black Devanagari inscription and numerous notations, mounted, glazed and framed, painting 33.4 x 48.5cm. With slight crease running vertically just to right of the fort, the pink of the fort somewhat greyish to lower part, minor paint losses throughout, corners with losses to paint, the border with brown tape to all sides to reverse, tear to border on bottom edge approx. 1.2cm.
