一笏呈长方形，双面描金，一面题“同治癸酉花朝主人监制于鉏月山馆”，钤印“庭”，背书“磨人”，“颖川仲子墨琴书画之宝”。侧书“徽州休城胡开文造”字样，以证此墨为“徽州胡开文”名号之传承。胡开文墨自太平天国后，事业发展蓬勃，家族产业扩散，各自经营，后分为“休城胡开文”、“老胡开文”、“海阳胡开文”等名号。此墨即为其中一支，系出名门。
