Compagnia di pagliacci con il nano. 1946. Oil on board. Cm 52,00 x 82,00. Signed lower right F. Queyo. Salvatore Fiume Foundation - Laura Fiume, Canzo, authenticity certficate on photo. Provenance: Private Collection, Milan. In the Milan of the 1940s there seemed to be no room for Salvatore Fiume artworks. Yet, determined to establish himself in the artistic community, he decided to resort to an original stratagem. He invented a Spanish-Gypsy painter, gave him the name of Francisco Queyo, and produced a series of works inspired by the Spanish tradition and Gypsy folklore. Works that achieved great success at the Gussoni Gallery in Milan. Thanks to Salvatore Fiume Foundation for the details. Small defects. Frame present
