An early 20th century gold old-cut diamond, ruby and demantoid garnet shamrock brooch, with rose-cut diamond highlight.Estimated old-cut diamond weight 0.15ct, H-I colour, VS-SI clarity.Length 4.5cms. 3.8gms. Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Garnet medium vivid green, fairly well saturated, with typical inclusions. Garnet in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Ruby medium pinkish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Trefoil cluster is a replacement. Replacement brooch fitting. Brooch tests as 14ct. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked.
