A PAIR OF SPANISH GILTWOOD FRAMED MIRRORS OVERLAID WITH CARVED RELIEFS OF ST LAWRENCE AND ST MICHAEL 18TH CENTURY The carved gilt frames with shaped arch tops, polychrome decorated reliefs of St Lawrence on a gridiron, the winged St Michael figure above a dragon 86cm high, 57cm wide Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Some chips including to protruding areas like hands, tips of wings, plumage to hat, edges of drapery. Wing broken. Some cracks along sectional joins. Some later mirror. Some knocks and flaking to gilt gesso with later gilt paint and some filler. Evidence of old worm. That said these mirrors have a mellow aged appearance and these notes of condition are apparent only on close inspection.
