A rare mid 19th century eNGRAVED GILT TIMEPIECE IN THE FORM OF A MINIATURE bon bon dish Attributed to Thomas Cole, signed and retailed by C. F. Hancock, London, no.742 8 The raised rim of the case engraved with flowers and scrolls surmounted by a hinged scroll handle, on a shallow spreading tripod foot, the 3.25 inch circular silvered dial set within the basket and signed for the retailers above XII within a running vine border, the centre with original blued steel hands curved to follow the form of the dial, engraved with an elaborate monogram and baron's coronet, the later gilt bar movement with cylinder escapement signed 'Stauffer Ch de Fonds' (Apparently replaced - bearing the inscription 'This movement fitted by A O Rick 30 Park Rd Kingston Hill 30/3/12'). 4 ¼ in (10.8cm) diameter.
