A George III giltwood wall mirror, c.1775, in the manner of William and John Linnell, the shaped plate surmounted by a leaf-carved fluted urn with trailing husks and scrolling foliage, above a scrolling foliate apron, 90cm wide 190cm high Provenance: Sotheby's, 'Fine Furniture & Decorative Arts', 13 January 2009, lot 193; Farm House, Farm Street, Mayfair, London. Condition report: Chips, rubbing, knocks and losses to gilding throughout. one small area of loss to one acanthus scroll. Evidence of repair throughout, with some glue repair. Re-gilded. Plate showing signs of age. Splits and cracks to frame throughout. Areas of touching up. Dirt and dust. General wear commensurate with age.
