A German Baroque Silver Covered Cup Probably Regensburg, 17th century The cup chased with foliage and flowers, the cover surmounted by gilt swan. The underside of the cup stamped, marks rubbed, including a maker's mark of an entwined V and S, the number '3,' and crossed keys resembling the city mark for Regensburg. (H: 6 3/4 in. Weight: 8.66 oz. t.) Provenance Collection of a Philadelphia gentleman. Condition report: Overall rubbing and wear to surfaces, as expected with age and use. Some dents to cup and cover. Gilt surface rubbed from swan finial. Some oxidation present. Cover lid slightly bent out of shape.
